THE PARENT HOPE Project
FROM WORRY ABOUT YOUR CHILD, TO CONFIDENCE IN YOUR PARENTING
Dr. Schwartz offers a specialized parent counseling service dedicated to helping parents regain confidence, reduce family stress, and strengthen children’s resilience and self-regulation so they can overcome emotional and behavioral challenges and thrive.
Children can become a concern and source of stress for parents for many reasons. Raising children in today’s fast-paced world is not for the faint of heart, and the flood of expert advice can often add to confusion and insecurity for parents who are trying their best.
Dr. Schwartz offers therapy that specializes in supporting parents who are worried about a child of any age. Developed by Dr. Jenny Brown, The Parent Hope Project is a research-based, semi-manualized program, based in family systems theory and tailored to the specific needs of each family. Unlike other parent coaching or parent eduction interventions, which primarily offer advice and instruction on how to get children to change, this series teaches parents how to observe themselves and their family system in order to discover their own truth and confidence as a parent leader.
The program consists of 6, 1-hour sessions, plus an introductory session, for one or two parents. Parents are supported during and between sessions with a workbook to help guide observations and offer examples. The program aims to:
Participate in evaluating the program: Parents are given the option to assist in providing feedback to evaluate the program through two short questionnaires at the beginning and end of the program.
- Are you worried about a child who is showing signs of isolation or anxiety?
- Is your child acting out or unmotivated at school?
- Are you struggling with a child who is oppositional?
- Are you concerned about relationship tension in your family or with your co-parent?
- Do you have a child who refuses to go or doesn't find therapy helpful?
